If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download these images from the website and extract their location data from them.


When leaving a comment on the site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your comfort, so you don't have to fill in your details again when you make another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you have an account and access this site, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be discarded when you close your browser.

How long do we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. We do this so that we can automatically recognize and approve any further comments rather than holding them for moderation.

To send emails, we use the name and email address you provide to us. Our website also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent system abuse.

This site may send emails using the push service MailPoet sending service. This service allows us to track openings and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters.

No identifiable information is tracked outside of this website, except for email address.

Note: Smush does not interact with end users on your website. The only input option Smush has is to a newsletter subscription for site admins only. If you would like to notify your users of this in your privacy policy, you can use the information below.

Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.

Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, Location and ISP info of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath's privacy policy can be found here.

Plugin: LiteSpeed Cache

This site utilizes caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.
